A Traction (Friction) Curve Is Not a Flow Curve

چکیده
With the uncertainty regarding global energy future, ability to lubricate concentrated contacts with sufficiently thick liquid films while minimizing friction is of extreme importance. The assumptions classical elastohydrodynamic lubrication have remained unchanged since early days. It has not been possible test many these without measurement viscosity at (EHL) pressures, and viscometer measurements ignored. One equivalence a traction curve rheological flow for lubricant. This notion should discarded forty years ago, simply because it required pressure–viscosity behavior be unlike observed in viscometers. At heart problem fact that pressure within EHL contact homogeneous properties are highly dependent on pressure, making very poor rheology laboratory. These past failures must avoided future.

متن کاملIs There a Kuznets Curve?
No. There has never been good evidence for a pattern of rising inequality in low-income countries and falling inequality in higher income countries. The only evidence that appears to support the Kuznets hypothesis is the cross-sectional pattern of inequality levels across countries, although the Kuznets hypothesis is an assertion about the path of inequality within countries. Numerous cross-sec...
متن کاملNormal labor curve is affected by fetus gender: A cohort study
Background: Fetal male gender may affect the progression of labor and could be a risk factor for labor arrest. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of fetus gender on labor curve. Methods: In this cohort study, 1550 singleton term pregnant women in labor phase (either spontaneous or by induction) were enrolled. Results of regular cervical examination, dilation, length o...
متن کاملOptical flow: a curve evolution approach
A novel approach for the computation of optical flow based on an L (1) type minimization is presented. It is shown that the approach has inherent advantages since it does not smooth the flow-velocity across the edges and hence preserves edge information. A numerical approach based on computation of evolving curves is proposed for computing the optical flow field. Computations are carried out on...
